I wrote the following poem on the ‘graveyard’ watch (00.00 – 04.00) when I was a young second mate in the British Merchant Navy. I wasn’t walking too closely with God in those days, but in the stillness of the graveyard watch I was regularly, almost routinely, overwhelmed by His presence. And I knew I needed to be surrendered to Him before I reached my final harbour. There is a choice of two destinations beyond the final harbour. I know where I am headed. How about you?
